Tim Rose

Councillor

I have lived in Bourton since 2014 and previously spent all my life in Gillingham, where I went to school.

I worked for the family business, JH Rose and Sons Ltd, from 1978 until it closed in 2020.  The company was well known, having traded in Bourton as coal merchants for over 100 years.  I am still working as a self-employed haulier.

I served for three terms on Gillingham Town Council from 1980 to 1992, so I have some experience of how local government works.

I supported the campaign to reduce the speed limit through the village and also take part in the annual litter pick.  I believe that our village should continue to be a home for all age groups, families and working people.  I maintain that Bourton should have controlled growth and be able to provide employment for local people so that local businesses and the whole community can thrive.

My hobbies include walking, enjoying the countryside, playing skittles and supporting North Dorset Rugby Club, having been a member for 45 years.
